Das wäre bei all dem Gerate und Diskutieren über die 5th Edition von Dungeons & Dragons beinahe untergegangen: für Oktober 2012 ist die Veröffentlichung von Elminster's Forgotten Realms geplant. Worum gehts dabei?
It is a look at how Ed Greenwood, creator of the setting, has used the Realms in his own campaigns over the years. It sounds like this will be a bit of an alternate timeline for the setting mixed with notes about the setting’s development.Oder, wie offiziell verlautbart wurde:
Next we have Elminster's Forgotten Realms in Quarter 4. We basically went to Ed and said hey, why don't you take all your campaign notes, all the information you've been putting together for your FR campaign and lets compile it into a book. Show us the realms as you've developed it in your campaign setting and lets get that to everybody. It's our celebration of the Forgotten Realms and pulling back the curtain to show you what the designer of the campaign setting has done.Wir reden also die Forgotten Realms, wie Ed Greenwood sie ersonnen und gespielt hat. Das bedeutet kein Maztica, keine Horde Lands, kein Kara-Tur. Keine Moonshea Isles. Keine Times of Troubles. Und vor allem keine Spell Plague. Stattdessen dürfte man viel diplomatisches Geplänkel vorfinden, militärische Konflikte, Grautöne statt schwarz-weiß Malerei, intelligente Zhentarim, usw. Eine Wiedergeburt für meine erste große Fantasywelt-Liebe. Das erst mal seit 3 1/2 Jahren verspüre ich Aufregung bezüglich einer anstehenden Veröffentlichung von Wizards of the Coast. Großartig!
